There's one huge industry that's responsible for a huge chunk of the animal testing going on, and unfortunately, it's the cosmetics industry. Over 19,500,000 animals are killed each year just for research purposes.

So why does animal testing exist?

Animals testing for drugs and cosmetics exists because governments needed to establish whether or not a product or ingredient is safe for public health before allowing it on the market.

But there are over 7,000 safe ingredients that cosmetic companies can choose from to formulate their products, without having to test or harm any animals in the process. In this technologically-inclined day and age and the constant evolution of science, there are many alternative methods that make testing on animals unethical and also unnecessary. (InSilico and EpiSkin)

It's important for consumers to pay closer attention to which products they're purchasing and what companies they're supporting, because your decision can help make a change. If enough people come together and take a stand against testing on animals, eventually we can transition into a cruelty-free society.

Our stand here at NOTE is simple:
NOTE Cosmetics products are manufactured and developed by methods that do not involve experimentation on animals. We care about the animals, and so should you. One of the best ways to get involved is to spread the word about animal testing and shopping cruelty-free. Let's all do our part, and choose cruelty-free cosmetics.
