In our previous installment, we talked about the benefits of Argan Oil. In this post, the essential oil up for discussion is Sunflower Oil! Originated from North America, sunflowers have been used for many different purposes. Sunflower oil itself can be used for beauty purposes, or cooking purposes. Of course, we will be focusing on the beauty benefits of sunflower oil!

1) Natural Sunscreen

Sunflower oil is rich in Vitamin E, which is great for protecting the skin! It helps maintain the outer layer of protective skin, thus reducing the water loss from the skin and shield the skin from harmful environmental damage. As you know, the Sun's rays are harmful towards our skin. Therefore, by applying a layer of sunflower oil on your skin, you will be creating an extra layer to protect your skin. Consuming sunflower oil will also help with the protection of your skin. This is because sunflower oil is a great source of beta carotene, which helps to improve the skin's health.

2) Anti-Aging

Sunflower oil, similarly to argan oil, has high Vitamin E content. Vitamin E helps to protect and retain the skin's collagen and elastin, reducing wrinkles and giving you a younger look. Also, it works well as an eye cream. Sunflower oil is easily absorbed by the skin, and very moisturising. Along with its abilities to reduce wrinkles, sunflower oil not only helps to moisturise the areas under the eyes, but helps to reduce the wrinkles around the eyes as well.

3) Anti-imflammatory and Anti-Bacterial Properties

Sunflower oil contains Vitamin E, that moisturises the skin and reduces irritation, which makes the skin smooth and less red. It also contains Omega-6 fatty acid, or Linoleic acid, which helps to reduce inflammation in the skin, and develop new skin cells. Therefore, sunflower oil is useful in healing the skin and making it smooth.

Sunflower oil is very similar to argan oil as they help with the healing process, and encourage smooth and healthy skin. So, we hope that this blog helped you see the uses of sunflower oil, that the plant is not just a pretty flower! Reminder! Note uses these oils in our products as well! Treat your skin well!
