In caring for your skin, you first need to understand your skin. You'll need to know your skin type and how it adapts and reacts to certain products and circumstances.

Let's explore the three most common skin types, and how to determine yours, whether its dry, normal/combination or oily skin.

Dry skin can feel tight throughout the day, and may experience noticeable flaking. People experiencing dry skin have a tendency to have red patches. Mainly due to genetics, people with dry skin have almost invisible pores and more visible lines. Daily exfoliation with gentle, non-abrasive ingredients help promote skin cell turnover without removing skin’s natural oils.

Those with normal skin are not prone to breakouts on their cheeks, and tend to have a well-moisturized T-zone. Gentle, daily exfoliation is key to keeping the t-zone and cheek areas balances.

Often experiencing dryness on the cheeks, and an oily T-Zone, it's important for people with combination skin type to find a moisturizer that's not too heavy but significant enough to retain moisture where needed.

Oily skin will look shiny, with enlarged pores mostly situated around the nose, chin and forehead. This type of skin will also experience more blackheads and blemishes than any other skin type. Take note of your hair as well, because oily hair is also a clue to recognizing this skin type.

Taking time to learn and understand your skin type will help you make better decisions in choosing the right products for you, balancing your skin and giving it a healthier and more radiant glow. Check out our website at www.note.sg to find the perfect products that suit your skin type.
